In larger game teams with 15+ members the need to organize and structure the production of interactive experiences is extremely high in order to achieve successful project results – to be in time, in quality, and in budget. It is therefore particularly important for project or production managers as well as vision keepers and producers, but also for ordinary team members, to gain a solid understanding of the various production methods that are available when working in a larger game team.

The aim of this course is to understand and experience the advantages and disadvantages of traditional production methods such as waterfall and modern agile management approaches such as Scrum or Kanban, and to evolve a method tailored to the specific needs of game development by applying the best and most practical techniques of the various production management forms.

Followed by a theoretical input all production methods will be practiced by using LEGO.

  • Learn why it is important to implement and apply production management methods when developing games in a larger team.
  • Find out the workability and constraints of the Waterfall method.
  • Experience the agility and restrictions of Scrum.
  • Get to know how Kanban can solve limitations of aforementioned production management methods and learn about its restrictions.
