Participants of this course will learn about modern Information Technologies used in Industrial Automaton.

The course will cover topics such as:

- Basics of Industrie 4.0, IoT and Digital transformation
- Product identification systems
- Data acquisition and exchange, e.g. OPC UA
- Engineering using digital twins
- Product lifecycle management and product data management (PLM / PDM)
- Remote control
- Security and safety in industrial automation
- Manufacturing execution systems (MES)
- Enterprise resource planning systems (ERP)
- Assistance systems, e.g. using mixed reality
- Cloud computing including e.g. IoT hubs, cloud services

The student achieves competencies in the field of safe machinery and safe automation. They gain theoretical and practical knowledge in this important field of modern and advanced automation technology. Upon completing the course successfully, the students will be capable to use the acquired knowledge within characteristical industrial problems. They will have theoretical and practical knowledge in designing and validation of PLC based safe systems.
