The aim of the module is to provide students with the following levels of competence in terms of the knowledge and skills specified in each case.
Know: Students know the basics of driver assistance systems and automated driving, the related technology especially with a focus on system understanding. They know various evaluation criteria for component selection, functional limits, sensors and actuators. Students have learned about the functional ranges of existing systems through road testing during demonstrations and experiments.
Understanding: Students understand the physical principles of how driver assistance systems relate to machine perception.
Apply: Students will be able to design and layout systems and components for driver assistance systems.
